A community’s story is not measured only in years.

It is measured by what one generation passes on to the next.

The vision of Lithuanian Community Fund UK is to add one more thing to that legacy: long-term community capital.

We want to help build a fund that is not created for one project, one city or one organisation.

Its perspective should be broader.

The entire Lithuanian community in the United Kingdom.

And not only today’s generation.

In the future, we want the Fund to help strengthen four key areas:

• Education — so that the Lithuanian language, history and culture can be passed on to children growing up in the United Kingdom.
• Culture and heritage — so that Lithuanian traditions, arts and community history can be preserved and passed on to future generations.
• Youth and future generations — so that young people have opportunities to build a connection with Lithuania, their community and their heritage.
• Community — so that good ideas and organisations have more opportunities to grow, collaborate and create lasting impact.

But our vision is not only about money.

We also want to build an institution of trust.

A Fund that operates transparently.

A Fund that is governed responsibly.

A Fund where decisions are made not with one term or one project in mind, but with the decades ahead in view.

This will not be built in a single day.

That is why we are starting with the foundations — governance, people, principles and a long-term model.

Then we can talk about growing capital.

And later, about the projects that this capital could help support.

We do not know exactly what the Lithuanian community in the UK will look like in 30 or 50 years.

But we can start building something that will remain for it.

Not just a project. Not just a campaign. Not just an initiative for one generation.
